A 39-year-old man has been charged in the death of a man more than a year ago.
On Sept. 28, 2023, Ricky Martinez was fatally stabbed at the intersection of Carrall and East Hastings streets.
At the time police stated a man had been assaulted around 5:15 a.m. Police arrived and the man was taken to hospital where he later died.
The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Department later identified the victim as Martinez.
Now, police are announcing one man has been charged in the death.
"Following an 11-month investigation by the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Homicide Unit, the BC Prosecution Service approved one count of second-degree murder against 39-year-old Hevert Solis Moreno, who was arrested earlier today by VPD officers," states the police.
Moreno is currently in police custody.
