A section of one of Vancouver's busiest streets will close in both directions over the Thanksgiving Day long weekend.
The City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»plans to close vehicle traffic on Cambie Street from West 41st Avenue to West 45th Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 12 to "support crane activity at the Oakridge Park development site at 650 West 41st Ave.," according to a news release.
Drivers should plan an alternative route in the area during the closure from roughly 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
While the job is expected to be completed on Saturday, there is a potential for it to continue into Sunday, depending on the weather. If that happens, drivers should expect the same road closures.
The city says EllisDon, the top contractor for the development site, is coordinating the "complex and time-sensitive" work.
