The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»chapter of the national organization managed to raise $40,000 at their Gift of Sport Gala held at the Heritage Hall on Main Street on Nov. 28.
The gala is an annual affair and this was the organization's first in-person one held since COVID hit. The event drew 200 guests that included Olympians and sports stars Ashleigh McIvor, Brent Hayden, Christine Nesbitt, Evan Dunfee, Finn Iles, Jay DeMerit, and Natasha Wodak.
The organizing committee tells Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» that the money raised will support no less than 500 local kids whose families might not otherwise have the means to enroll them in organized sports.
