Keynote speaker at a 鶹ýӳanti-mask protest planned this weekend is facing charges

Chris Sky was arrested in Toronto for threats and assaulting a peace officer. He is scheduled to speak at an anti-mask protest at Vancouver’s Sunset Beach on Sunday.

A keynote speaker at an anti-mask protest scheduled for this weekend in 鶹ýӳhas been arrested and is facing charges in Toronto.

Chris Saccoccia, otherwise known as Chris Sky was arrested by the Toronto Police Service on  May 20. It is alleged that Saccoccia threatened to shoot a member of the public and elected officials a week before. In a from Toronto police, the threats were reported to police the morning of May 19 and an investigation was started.

That same afternoon, officers attended an address in York Region to arrest Saccoccia. While officers were there, he got into his vehicle to drive away but police attempted to block the vehicle and an officer got out of the car to approach Saccoccia. He then reversed and drove directly at the officer, causing the officer to jump out of the way to avoid being hit as Saccoccia drove off.

On Thursday, May 20 Saccoccia turned himself in. He has been criminally charged with:

  • Three counts of Utter Death Threat
  • Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon
  • Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance

None of the allegations have been proven in court. 

In a posted to Saccoccia’s Twitter account two days before his attempted arrest he spoke of plans to arrive in 鶹ýӳon May 22 to speak at a rally planned for May 23. 

It is unclear at this point as to whether Saccoccia will be able to attend.
