Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»has seen several protests over the past week, including another one set to take place this weekend.
B.C. nurses held a demonstration on Wednesday (Oct. 5) and a rally in solidarity with Iran took place last weekend (Oct. 1).
This weekend, another protest by Vancouver's Iranian-Canadian community will march through the city's downtown. That rally and march will be in addition to a gathering in solidarity with the Hazara people of Afghanistan set for a little earlier in the afternoon at the same location.
Protesters will gather at the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Art Gallery Saturday (Oct. 8) at 3 p.m. to show support for those protesting in Iran. The group will then march at 4:30 p.m. down Georgia Street towards the CBC building.
"Across the country, women and men of all ages, university students and academics alike, labour groups, and even young school children have joined together to protest the death of Mahsa Amini and the unfair laws and practices against women," states a news release for the event.
"It is imperative that we send a clear message that Canada is aware of the plight of Iranian women, and that Canadians support their brave efforts," organizers add.
Protesters are encouraged to wear red, white, and green.
