Simon Fraser University
Designed by a then-young professor of architecture, Arthur Erickson and colleague Geoffrey Massey, Simon Fraser University officially opened its doors in 1965. Construction wasn’t quite finished when the school welcomed its very first student body, totaling 2500 students. At the time, SFU was the only university in Canada to offer athletic scholarships to its students.
