A high-risk sex offender who was wanted Canada-wide after failing to return to his halfway house in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is back in custody.
On Saturday, police indicated Kenneth Nolan Kirton, 56, who is a declared dangerous offender and is considered a high risk to sexually offend, had not returned to his East Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»halfway house as expected.
He signed out on Friday (April 28) just after 4 p.m. and was reported absent on April 29, according to the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Department.
Late Sunday evening, the VPD reported Kirton was arrested just before 11 p.m near China Creek Park, in East Vancouver, after officers responded to reports of a man acting erratically in the area.
Kirton was subsequently returned to jail.
