As 鶹ýӳmakes its way out of the recent arctic weather pattern the city is in for what looks to be a week of solid rain.

The arctic air, which brought subzero temperatures and even some snow to the city earlier this week, seems like it will be lessened by the incoming weekend rainfall. is forecasting a continuation of that cold for Friday (Feb. 25) evening with a low of -2°C but things will be warming up on Saturday. Despite the federal forecaster calling for rain during the day and into the evening, the thermometer will likely read higher than what locals have seen lately.

Saturday will be cloudy with rain beginning near noon. Wind is also expected, coming from the southeast at around 30 km/h late in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to be in the 6°C range. More rain is on the forecast for Sunday which will see a high of 8°C with the temperature for the week peaking on Thursday with 11°C.

Derek Lee, a meteorologist with Environment Canada told 鶹ýӳ in a recent phone interview the rain is being brought in by warmer, moist air from the Pacific

While it's still a bit premature to comment on the long-term spring forecast, Environment Canada is forecasting a La Niña pattern, which generally means "cooler temperatures for the province," explained Lee.
