Did you have the chance to enjoy some end-of-July showers this weekend?

Although not every area of the Lower Mainland had precipitation on Saturday (July 31), many people rejoiced at the sight, smell, and sound of rain after one of the longest dry stretches in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»history.

And while Environment Canada calls for another sunny and warm week in the region, there are a few opportunities for wet weather again.

Tuesday is expected to be mainly sunny with a high of 26°C on the coast and 30°C inland. With humidity, however, these temperatures will feel more like 33°C and 36°C respectively. Wednesday is expected to be bright and sunny with similar humidity.

Temperatures are expected to cool a few degrees on Thursday and the evening forecast includes a 60 per cent chance of showers. Similarly, Friday's forecast includes a 60 per cent chance of showers during the day.

Metro Vancouverites may also see some showers on Saturday during the day but the rest of the weekend calls for a mix of sun and clouds.

Will there be another scorching hot heat wave in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»this summer?

While you might have to be prepared for more sweltering humidity, it isn't likely that B.C. will see the same scorching daily highs that it did during the heat wave at the end of June.

"That kinda thing is a once-in-a-lifetime event," Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist told Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»

"Let's hope that doesn't happen [again] for decades."
