While Metro Vancouverites enjoyed brilliantly sunny, crisp fall weather over Halloween weekend, this week's forecast includes a great deal of precipitation.

Following a rainfall warning that was issued for the region earlier this week, Environment Canada calls for periods of rain on Thursday (Nov. 4) with a high of 14°C during the day and an overnight low of 9°C.

The wet weather is expected to continue into Friday, although less heavy. Friday is expected to be somewhat chilly, however, with a high of 9°C and an overnight low of 5°C.

Saturday's forecast includes periods of rain while Sunday's forecast calls for rain all day and overnight. Heading into next week, Monday is expected to see showers during the day with periods of rain at night.

Tuesday and Wednesday are also expected to be wet.

Locals hoping for a dry respite this November may have to travel outside of the city.

Bobby Sekhon a meteorologist with Environment Canada, told Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» in a previous interview that, "November is the wettest month of the year with an average of 189 mm in precipitation." He added that both September and October produced weather that "we expect a little later in fall."

While the wet weather trend doesn't necessarily mean that November will be wetter than average, the meteorologist said it is a possibility. Additionally, the month is expected to be somewhat cooler than average. "So with that, we'll see probably temperatures dip somewhat...that's what we're seeing for the middle of the month."

Environment Canada hasn't released a winter forecast but a La Niña winter is expected. These phases have historically produced colder-than-average seasons, explained Sekhon.
