Commuters should expect delays near the Granville Street Bridge due to ongoing work.
The City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»will commence work on the Hemlock Street on-ramp in late October. Overnight closures are on weekends from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. for four weeks.
Locals may notice noise in the area due to the nature of the work, including line removal, line painting, and "other less noisy construction activities."
A allows this construction project to proceed outside of normal working hours.
The work will wrap up at the end of November.
Other work on the Granville Street Bridge
The north end of the Granville Bridge is now open to traffic following the completion of key upgrades. However, the bridge's west sidewalk is temporarily closed while the contractor constructs new traffic signals on the bridge deck.
Pedestrians should use the bridge's east sidewalk or the Burrard Street Bridge as an alternative. Cyclists can share the road with other vehicles.
The speed limit is reduced to 30 km/h while work continues on the bridge deck. On most days, a minimum of two lanes are open to traffic in each direction. However, traffic will be reduced to one lane on some nights to accommodate activities such as painting.
