For many people, life in quarantine can be boring, lonely, and depressing. After all, there are a number of reasons to feel anxious, blue and hopeless during a pandemic. Nevertheless, a local filmaker has found a number of reasons to smile.
Entitled "Welcome to Quarantine," the short film injects humour into quarantine life, showcasing the unexpected 'upsides' of life in isolation. For example, it notes that no one will judge you for wearing sweatpants seven days a week, or letting your beard grow long and lush. Likewise, you won't have to worry about makeup, or commuting to work.
The film also notes that people are free to binge-watch Netflix and play video games completely guilt-free, as all of the local gyms have shuttered.
"When all is said and done, the human race will largely go back to what it did before, but maybe, just maybe, we'll have learned to appreciate each other just a little bit more," says the voiceover.
"And perhaps we will have a learned a little bit about not taking this home, our home, for granted."
Directed, edited and voiced by Vancouver-based Julian Figueroa, the film has been viewd a whopping 1,600 times on the Kinetic Crypto Channel on YouTube.
