Frigid temps kick off the week in Vancouver. Just how cold will it get?

It's going to be unseasonably cold in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­on Feb. 22 and 23, 2022.

Don't be fooled by the sunshine, Vancouverites: Tuesday's forecast calls for chilly daytime temps and a frigid drop in overnight lows.

A special weather statement issued over the long weekend cautions Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­residents it's going to get quite cold in the region today, with the cold snap lasting through Wednesday (Feb. 23). 

"A period of unusually cold temperatures and strong outflow winds will continue," cautions Environment Canada Tuesday morning. 

On Tuesday Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­is expected to see a mix of sun and cloud in the sky and a high of just 2C, however, the wind chill is going to keep things decidedly cold, clocking in at -9C. Though we'll have clear skies overnight, the low will drop to -6C, with the wind chill at -10C Tuesday night. 

That's going to keep us even chillier on Wednesday, when Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­will only get to a high of 1C during the day, and a low of -5C overnight.

We'll start to warm up a bit Thursday and Friday, and the sun and clear skies should stick around, however by the weekend we'll have warmer-than-average temps of 10C-11C with rain through to Monday.
