Free parking announced for veterans in Vancouver

All vehicles with B.C. veteran licence plates will get to park for free across 鶹ýӳfrom Nov. 4 to Nov. 11 to mark Veterans’ Week.

All vehicles with B.C. veteran licence plates will get to park for free across 鶹ýӳfrom Nov. 4 to Nov. 11 to mark Veterans’ Week.

The free parking applies to:

  •  City of 鶹ýӳparking meters

  •  EasyPark parkades
  •  Surface lots
  •  Park Board-operated parking facilities, including Stanley Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, the 鶹ýӳAquatic Centre and all 鶹ýӳcommunity centres.

“The city offers free parking to recognize the service and dedication of Canadian military personnel to our country,” the city said in a news release. “The initiative also helps veterans in their work distributing poppies across 鶹ýӳas it provides them with easier access to the sites that they deliver to.”

Remembrance Day services will take place across 鶹ýӳon Nov. 11, with the annual Remembrance Day ceremony and parade at the Victory Square Cenotaph beginning at 10 a.m.
