A 22-year-old woman reported missing out of Coquitlam this week has been found dead, RCMP say.
Zailey Smith was located deceased, as confirmed by spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins in a written update Wednesday night (Dec. 21), thanking the public for its help with the case.
Her last known sighting was Sunday (Dec. 18) when she left her Burquitlam-area residence.
Concern for Smith's health and well-being prompted a police investigation.

Zailey Smith left her Coquitlam home this past weekend, but hasn't been seen since.
And the missing woman's family, as well as police, is becoming increasingly concerned for her health and well being, with the public being asked to help find her.
"Her brother, father and I are all very worried about her whereabouts and really want her home," said Cyndi Smith, Zailey's mother, told the Tri-City News.
"We really just want our baby girl back home alive please. Anyone with any sort of information, please reach out to the authorities."
Smith is considered to be "high risk," according to RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins in a news release today (Dec. 21).
The 22-year-old woman was last seen Sunday (Dec. 18) when she left her Burquitlam residence near the intersection of .
Hodgins said Smith is known to frequent Vancouver, as well as Metrotown in Burnaby.
She's described as:
- White
- 5'4"
- Slim build
- Long brown hair
- Hazel eyes
- Last seen wearing....
- A black cross body bag
- Black winter jacket
- Light grey leggings
- Black shoes
