The Stanley Park Bright Lights holiday train has moved to a virtual platform in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

The whimsical light displays seen along the route of Stanley Park’s Bright Nights holiday train can still be admired by anyone ages one to 92 this year.

Leading up to December, Stanley Park organizers had scaled back the event to feature just the illuminated train ride and not the activation in the plaza. However, when the extension of the public health order came down the entire event was cancelled. All was not lost though because behind the scenes a solution was being created.

That solution is this nearly eight-minute long YouTube video posted on Monday, Dec. 21. Taken from the last train car, the video captures all the fantastical light displays in the forest.

“Since we're unable to host you at Bright Nights in person this year, we thought we'd bring Bright Nights to YOU! Pour a cup of hot chocolate, bundle up in a blanket, and hop aboard the virtual holiday train!” reads the video’s description. 

The Bright Nights event is also a fundraiser for the , Organizers of the popular Christmas Train event are urging those who wish to contribute to donate to Burn Fund directly or to enter their .
