While snow may be staying off Vancouver's forecast for a while, strong north to northwest winds are expected to blast across the Strait of Georgia today.
On Friday (Jan. 7), Environment Canada issued a warning for Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»of an intense low-pressure system. Most of Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»will see winds of 50 km/h gusting to 70. Areas closer to the coast will see stronger winds of 70 km/h gusting to 90. The strong winds will begin to ease through the afternoon.
As for precipitation, more rain is expected to help wash away the recent snowfall. Daytime temperatures are forecasted at 3 C while the mercury is expected to dip to -1 C in the evening.
On Saturday, periods of snow totalling 2 cm are predicted to change to turn into periods of rain near noon with winds of 20 km/h.
