Starting this Sunday, night owls in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»might have to lose a few extra "zzzs."
Daylight saving time is set to take place in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on Sunday, March 14 at 2 a.m. Clocks will "spring forward" an hour to Pacific time on Sunday, March 14 at 3 a.m.
Back in 2019, the province asked residents to weigh in on how time should be observed in B.C. through an online survey and written submissions. More than 93 per cent of respondents, or almost 225,000 people, indicate their support for a permanent move to daylight time.
Saskatchewan does not observe daylight saving time and remains on standard time year-round.
Eventually, British Columbia will introduce legislation that will eliminate seasonal time changes, but when it happens still remains a matter of timing.
Right now, Premier John Horgan has delayed moving forward with the changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
