Police are looking for witnesses of a collision between a cyclist and a person exiting a car.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»police are looking for anyone who saw a collision that happened earlier this month between a cyclist and a pedestrian.

The incident took place on Sept. 1 at around 1 p.m. on Comox Street in the West End, between Broughton and Nicola streets.

The cyclist, a 62-year-old man, was riding a Mobi bicycle down Comox.

"He collided with the driver of a Nissan Sentra who was exiting her parked car," stated the VPD in a press release. "The cyclist fell off the bike and was transported to hospital with head injuries."

Police are investigating the incident and are seeking witnesses who may not have spoken to police at the time.

“We know there were people that came to assist the seriously injured cyclist immediately after the collision,” said Const. Tania Visintin in the release. “Those people remain unidentified and it is unclear if they were just passing by or if they were witnesses to the incident.”

Anyone who saw the collision or who may have dash cam footage of the area is asked to call the VPD at 604-717-3012.
