All Beverley Poitras wanted was a ginger ale.
Not only did her husband, Raymond Bailey, buy her a bottle of pop, he also secured the money to seemingly satisfy her ginger ale cravings for the foreseeable future.
The Chilliwack couple is "still shocked" after recently winning $675,000, the top prize in the Set for Life Scratch and Win game. They claimed the big cheque from the BC Lottery Corporation on Feb. 18.

He explained he scratched the ticket in the parking lot and called his wife after confirming the next steps with BCLC.
"He woke me up and I was kind of shocked," said Poitras in a news release Monday.
"I had asked him to get a bottle of ginger ale and he ended up buying the winning ticket!"
The couple said there are no immediate plans for the cash, but they are looking forward to "relaxing and enjoying life more together."
Bailey and Poitras chose the lump sum $675,000 payout of Set For Life instead of the annuity prize of $1,000 a week for 25 years.
Players must scratch "Cash 25 Years" in the same play area on a $5 card in order to win.
B.C. lottery players claimed more than $137 million on scratch-and-win prizes in 2024, according to BCLC.
