Charges laid against alleged vandals of East Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­church

The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Police Department has laid charges against Emily Luba and Zoe Luba for the alleged vandalism of St. Jude’s Parish in East Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­

Charges have been approved against two women who allegedly vandalized an East Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­church with orange paint on Canada Day.

The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Police Department launched an investigation the same day and three months later the B.C. Prosecution Service has approved one count of mischief for $5,000 or under against Emily Luba and Zoe Luba, both 27. The case was one of 13 incidents of vandalism that occurred at religious properties in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­between June 2 and July 20.

In the past, Emily and Zoe have been vocal advocates for anti-demoviction and protecting Vancouver’s homeless population. The pair have , a publication formerly known as Downtown East, a print newspaper providing news for Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
