The victim in the Yaletown stabbing has been identified as 29-year-old Justin Mohrmann.

Police are looking for witnesses to Justin Mohrman's last hours alive.

The 29-year-old man was walking near Smithe and Homer streets around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11 when he was stabbed; 911 was called and he was taken to hospital but succumbed to his wounds.

The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Department (VPD) announced July 19 that 34-year-old Lindsay Scott is facing a charge of second-degree murder in the case.

“Investigators have found no evidence to suggest the victim and accused knew each other,” says Sgt. Steve Addison. “We believe they were strangers.”

Police arrested Scott shortly after the incident at Main and Hastings. She remains in police custody.

While a charge has been approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service, witnesses are still sought by investigators looking to better understand Mohrman's and Scott's movements before the stabbing; they've released a photo of Mohrman to that end.

"Anyone who believes they may have interacted with Scott the morning of July 11 is asked to call VPD homicide investigators at 604-717-2500," the VPD add in a press release.
