Friday morning's commute across Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»has been moving more slowly for many transit users due to bus trip cancellations as a result of the ongoing labour dispute.
TransLink reports that they have reduced frequency on 25 bus routes across the region Friday morning.
The following routes have been impacted: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 20, 25, 32, 33, 41, 43, 84, 152, 156, 183, 188, 189, 403, 410, 430, 555, 601.
While some bus lines saw reduced service Thursday morning, TransLink did not make that information public until later in the day, when Gavin McGarrigle, Western Regional Director of Unifor - the union representing SeaBus and bus operators and maintenance workers - spoke to media and the public about route segment cancellations.
There are no talks scheduled between Unifor and employer Coast Mountain Bus Company.
TransLink says in a statement Friday that Coast Mountain Bus Company is making every effort to ensure reliable service, but the union’s job action will continue to have impacts on the system.
"The union has been asked to return to bargaining and take part in mediation, but they have repeatedly refused," adds TransLink.
