Jung Hyub Ahn was shocked to see another three zeros next to the two zeros on the $500 he thought he'd won on his Lotto Max ticket.
The Burnaby resident had bought his Feb. 16, 2024, ticket from the lottery kiosk at Metrotown and decided to check his ticket while shopping in Superstore.
He said he had first checked the ticket himself, thinking he'd won $500, before handing the ticket to the cashier who informed him that he had actually won $500,000.
"I was so happy," Ahn explained.
Ahn is looking forward to the security the money will bring for his future and will take his time deciding what to do with his winnings.
