A car share company is allocating cars exclusively to B.C.'s frontline healthcare workers, and a bike share company will offer Vancouver's essential service workers with a free 90-day pass.
In a partnership with local Health Authorities across the province, BCAA’s Evo Car Share will allocate 250 of its vehicles for exclusive use to frontline healthcare workers during this time on a secondment basis. The company states that it has offered the vehicles to, "support B.C.’s frontline healthcare heroes and to thank them for their tireless work and commitment to helping our most vulnerable." It adds that each frontline worker in need of transit will have their own Evo to continue to carry out their heroic work.
Evo Car Share adds that over 70 healthcare members already have their own allocated their own Evo vehicle, and that it has extended its available fleet to 250 vehicles. Further, it notes that each, "Evo vehicle will come sanitized and fuelled up for our frontline workers, designated for that health hero to use for free until the end of May, with possibility of extension if our healthcare workers still need Evo’s help."
In partnership with the City of Vancouver, Mobi by Shaw Go has launched an Essential Services Membership Program to provide COVID-19 essential service employees with a free 90-day pass to Mobi by Shaw Go. It notes that public bike share remains operational for those who rely on it for transportation and their mental or physical wellbeing.
The Mobi by Shaw Go program is designated for essential workers who must travel during the COVID-19 pandemic such as those working in healthcare, transit, grocery stores. They can obtain a free 90-day pass by signing up through their employers, and the program includes unlimited 30 minute trips for 90 days.

“While many people are working from home, we recognize there are still many employees who are critical to helping us fight this pandemic and serving the community at large,” says Mia Kohout, General Manager of Mobi by Shaw Go. “As they continue to work and shop for their own essential goods and services we want to provide them with a safe, free commuting option.”​For other members of the public, Mobi by Shaw Go has reduced the price oftheir for both new and renewing customers. Prices will be cut to $99 or $119, giving you unlimited 30 minute or 60 minute trips for an entire year. The 24-hour, 30-day, and 90-day pass option are still available for those looking for short-term passes.
