BC Ferries has added extra sailings between the Island and the Mainland the weekend Taylor Swift is in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»in December 2024.

Those looking to travel between Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Island in early December this year will have a few more options on ships on waters so inviting.

shows extra sailings have been added between Tsawwassen in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and Swartz Bay north of Victoria in early December, crossing the sea where seals .

The extra sailings correspond with Taylor Swift's three shows at BC Place in Downtown Vancouver, meaning no one should be left on the Island pacing the rocks staring out at the midnight sea. Those shows are Dec. 6, 7 and 8.

"We know many Island residents were lucky to be able to buy tickets and we want to make sure they have lots of options to get there and back," says BC Ferries spokesperson Deborah Marshall in an email to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Is Awesome.

This year, starting Thursday, Dec. 5, and running to Monday, Dec. 9, extra sailings have been added each day in each direction.

"We’ve proactively scheduled 22 extra sailings on the Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay route over the December 6 – 8 weekend so customers can plan their travels well in advance," Marshall adds.

For example, those coming from the Island have three extra sailings to make it over to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on Thursday, Dec 5 (the extra sailings are at noon, 4 p.m., and 8 p.m.).

And those heading home on Monday, Dec. 9 have two extra times to choose from (10 a.m. and 2 p.m.).

In all, there appear to be more than 20 extra sailings over the five days, so no one should be out on waves, being tossed. (And yes, you can wear your blue dress on a boat.)

BC Ferries' competitor, the recently launched Hullo, has not announced its schedule for December yet and reservations are only available into the spring. However, it does regularly have late-night sailings from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to the Island (Nanaimo) for major events.
