The Warner Brothers TV show “Batwoman” will be filming tomorrow night in the City of New Westminster and the shoot calls for “significant action.”
A resident notification letter from Renraw Production Services states that filming will take place at 48 Begbie Street from 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 30 until 3 a.m. on Jan. 31. However, a minimal crew will be on location throughout the day Thursday to prepare for the shoot.
The notice states that the crew will film exterior dialogue and driving scenes along 48 Begbie Street. As a result, the street will be closed from Carnavoron Street to Clarkson Street from 6 p.m. until 3 a.m. the following morning.
The notice adds that filming will require bright lights on stands, but that it will try to direct the lights at the scene. With this in mind, it states that the area will appear brighter than usual. It also notes that atmospheric smoke will be used, but that there won't be any gunfire or special effects.
Police will be on site for intermittent traffic control and road closures. They will also monitor the use of exposed weapons and general safety.
Another notice to local film-shoot buffs...📽️

Looks like Batwoman is back in New West next Thursday, Jan 30th for a night-time driving shoot on Carnarvon and Begbie.🎞️
Last year, the City of 鶹ýӳwarned residents that there would be another film shoot with highly visible graphic content in Gastown.
The shoot, which involved multiple mock dead bodies and even a mock dead police horse, transformed the city streets into a post-apocalyptic hellscape. Based on the horror novel The Stand by Stephen King, the set design for the TV series “Radio Nowhere” calls for a great deal of disturbing imagery, dialogue and noise.
Have a look at some of the images from the shoot.
