The #ArtistAtHome project is always a joy, but visiting with Rebecca Franklin aka Melody Mangler was a serious treat! She's absolutely stunning and she is a very creative costume designer (she designs her own costumes and clothes for other burlesque dancers). Melody is also the current artistic director of the , a member of and co-founder of the (VIBF).  She recently toured across Canada with C.R. Avery's show Some Birds Walk for the Hell of It and performed and taught workshops at the Capitol Burlesque Festival in Ottawa.Â
It isn't all feather boas and heels, there is some serious physicality to her show, like laying down on a bed of nails and having knives thrown at her. We had a really fun time with this and she has a great outlook on life in general - saying there is never the perfect time to do something, you just have to do it! I couldn't agree more.
Many thanks to Melody for the great visit!
