It was like something out of a movie, and it was. Friday evening Vancouverites saw the filming of a chase scene involving an armoured truck and a half dozen police cruisers.
Videos of the stunt posted to social media show Seattle-branded police cars chasing after the truck down several downtown Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»streets. Other photos from the past few weeks show more Sonic 2 filming locations in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»as well, including an intricately decorated ice cream truck.

says a film notice given to their office building shows this will not be the last stunt for the movie to be performed in Vancouver. The notice lists the following stunts to take place in the coming weeks.
- Scenes include theatrical police vehicle(s) chasing a theatrical stolen armoured truck on Hastings from Thurlow to Granville Streets, and Howe Street from Cordova to Georgia Streets.
- Monday, March 29 and Wednesday, March 31 – A small-scale controlled theatrical pyrotechnical detonation will take place on the 700 block of Hastings Street prior to 11:00pm.
- Tuesday, March 30th – A small-scale controlled theatrical pyrotechnical detonation will take place on the 500 block of Howe Street prior to 11 p.m.
- Thursday, April 1 – The police chase scene will extend and take a right turn onto Richards Street prior to 11 p.m.

This is not the first time the hedgehog speedster visited British Columbia. In 2018 when the first Sonic movie, Sonic the Hedgehog, was being shot in Surrey and Ladysmith shared the limelight.
Keep your eyes peeled as you might catch a glimpse of Jim Carrey portraying Sonic’s arch-nemesis Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.
According to , filming for Emerald Hill in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»will continue until May 10.
