IKEA in Coquitlam closed Monday while a contractor deep cleaned the store after a worker tested positive with COVID-19.

There is no public exposure notice on Fraser Health's , however, suggesting that contact tracing is already in place to isolate the worker and their contacts.

Meanwhile, shoppers will have to wait until the store finishes with cleaning by a third-party, and a date for re-opening has yet to be revealed.

It notes the safety of IKEA co-workers and customers is their priority and extensive precautionary measures are being taken to reduce any risk of further exposure, including following the guidelines of British Columbia Health Services.

IKEA posted the message days after a staff person at the Port Coquitlam Costco tested positive for COVID-19 but workers they weren't told what department the individual worked in.
