Metro 鶹ýӳlocals are sharing photos of cherry blossoms in the city. The Cherry Blossom Festival also has a map that shows where to local the blooms.

Metro Vancouverites were privy to several ideal cherry blossom viewing days this April with plenty of sunshine and warm weather.

Sadly, cherry blossom season is drawing to an end in the Lower Mainland. So, if you are looking to view the pillowy canopies of powder pink blooms, try to get out on the next dry day.

Linda Poole, Founder and Artistic Creative Director of the 鶹ýӳCherry Blossom Festival, told 鶹ýӳ in a previous interview that cherry blossom admirers may visit the festival's website for tips on how to safely enjoy the blooms

"There's tons of space under our cherry blossoms. Wear a mask when you are outside," she explains, adding that the festival will be releasing a film that showcases the most beautiful 鶹ýӳblooms to the world.

The festival also has a Google map that shows around 2,689 spots to see the flowering trees.

The festival is an annual celebration of cherry blossoms inspired by the age-old Japanese cultural tradition of hanami or flower viewing. This year’s event offered several ways to safely take part in the festival using drone footage as well as photography and haiku contests.

Also included in the festival is the Soundwalk Dance, created by artistic producer, Desiree Dunbar, and presented by the Downtown 鶹ýӳBusiness Improvement Association. The VCBF invites you to put in your earbuds and discover the beauty of cherry trees in a whole new way with prompts and music.

Have a look at some photos of beautiful blooms from this year around the city.
