The Jimi Hendrix Experience played at the Pacific Coliseum in 鶹ýӳon Saturday 7 September 1968, just prior to the release of Electric Ladyland. His grandmother, , was in the audience, but ended up moving from the front to the back because it was too loud. “Well, I knew he had music in him,” she , “but I didn’t know he had that much music in him.”

In the video clip below, a young Terry David Mulligan interviews the band before the Coliseum show. Jimi briefly mentions his family connection to 鶹ýӳand that he once attended Dawson Annex, an elementary school that used to be on Burrard Street.
