Union Steamship Resort
The Union Steamship resort on Bowen Island, its main building seen in this 1920s photo, was a popular destination from the 1920s to the 1940s. Tourism dropped off after World War II, however, in part due to the rise of the automobile age, and the hotel was demolished in 1962.
