While today many cars and transit vehicles help ferry millions of people to Grouse Mountain every year, here is a photo of the first car to ever traverse Grouse Mountain Highway, taken in August 1926.
Standing in front of the car, a Hupmobile, is Lindsay Loutet, the son of former reeve of the District of North Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Jack Loutet, and founder of the Grouse Mountain Ski Club.
A few months after this photo was taken the original Grouse Mountain Chalet opened. The Grouse Mountain Highway is now used as a popular trail for mountain bikers and hikers.
