Streetcar No. 25
Glamourless streetcar. Public transit came early to Vancouver, but it wasn鈥檛 always pretty. No. 25, in this picture from Denman Street in 1895, had shallow, lengthwise seats to prevent people from sticking their feet out. The seats were reported to be so shallow that 鈥渨omen, when once seated, could not rise again.鈥�
