Jimmy Cunningham
Perhaps the person most closely associated with the building of the Stanley Park Seawall. A Scottish stonemason, Jimmy Cunningham cemented stones together and supervised hundreds of workers over 38 years. When the seawall was officially opened in 1971, Cunningham’s ashes were also enclosed in an unmarked location in the wall, a tribute to the man who had given so much.
