麻豆传媒映画began with a saloon. It was near this tree at the corner of Carrall and Water Streets that the garrulous barkeep John 鈥淕assy Jack鈥� Deighton opened his first watering hole, servicing the workers from the nearby Hastings Mill. In 1870, the year this photograph of Water Street was taken, the informal little hamlet of Gastown was surveyed and officially anointed the Township of Granville.
