Yick Lung Jin Tailors

The employees of Yick Lung Jin, Merchant Tailors, seen in this 1900 photo, would have been affected by the Chinese immigration head tax first imposed in 1885. Starting

at $50, the tax doubled in 1901, and then jumped to $500 in 1903.
