Lions Gate Bridge

Under construction in 1937, the Lions Gate Bridge was a private venture built to give better access to the British Properties in West Vancouver. The bridge, which officially opened in 1938, also marked the closing of Prospect Point Signal Station, which was installed in Stanley Park to regulate all shipping in and out? of Vancouver鈥檚 harbour. With the opening of the new bridge, Prospect Point was no longer necessary.
