Looming up between the walls of Capilano Canyon, the Cleveland Dam鈥攕een under construction in this photograph鈥攐pened in late 1954. The dam currently provides a third of Metro Vancouver鈥檚 water, and is accessible to visitors as part of the Capilano River Regional Park.
