Canadian Pacific Airlines
Put together by the Canadian Pacific Railway from 10 smaller bush plane companies, Canadian Pacific Airlines was launched in 1942. It quickly became a company to be reckoned with, expanding to the west with record-setting flights to Australia and Tokyo and then turning its sights to eastern Canada. It was not to last, however; after being rebranded as CP Air in 1968, the airline was sold to Canadian Airlines in 1987.
