The provincial government has published some spectacular footage of recent avalanche control work in northwest B.C.
The video posted by BC Transportation and Infrastructure shows a triggered avalanche along Highway 37A near Stewart, just east of the Alaska panhandle.
“If you weren't an avalanche nerd before seeing this — welcome to the club,” said the post.
Provincial avalanche technicians are stationed at eight key locations across B.C., keeping a close eye on weather and snowpack conditions in 62 avalanche-prone areas.
