A pedestrian is in the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle while walking in a marked crosswalk.
The collision happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 28), in the 7500 block 140 Street in Surrey.
The person suffered significant life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and there were witnesses.
The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team is working to determine the cause of the crash.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service processed the scene and closed the area to traffic in both directions.
