Republican candidates could be on the ballot for the next provincial election in Alberta, after a name change by an existing conservative party.

Jacobson ran for a seat in Edmonton-Strathcona as the Buffalo Party's lone candidate during the 2023 provincial election.
The Buffalo Party of Alberta formed in 2022, with Calgarian John Molberg as leader and a platform to seek more autonomy for Alberta and to decentralize government decision making.
