A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a commercial truck early Monday morning, police say.

A pedestrian is clinging to life in hospital after being struck by a commercial truck.

On Nov. 4 at 6:20 a.m., police in Langley were notified of a collision involving a pedestrian at 264 Street and Fraser Highway.

Police determined the driver of a commercial truck collided with a pedestrian.

The person who was walking was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A police investigation has shut down the westbound lanes of Fraser Highway at 264 Street.

Environment Canada warned that strong winds and heavy rain on Monday would reduce road visibility during the morning commute.

Langley RCMP and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruct Service (ICARS) are investigating. ICARS is responsible for the forensic reconstruction of collisions that result in serious injury or death between Pemberton and Boston Bar.

Since the collision involved a commercial vehicle, the commercial vehicle safety enforcement unit is also investigating the crash.

Police are looking for dash camera footage and witnesses who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
