Police are looking to identify this man who is suspected of voyeurism on March 11

Police are hoping the public can help identify a man caught filming a woman in a Surrey bathroom.

On March 11 at 2:10 p.m., Surrey RCMP were called to an educational facility in the 13400-block of 102 Avenue for a man filming a woman in a bathroom stall.

Once police arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene.

The incident occurred at Simon Fraser University's Surrey campus.

Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha says police want help identifying the man who is suspected of voyeurism.

"Investigators obtained CCTV footage of the alleged suspect, but despite investigative efforts, he has not yet been identified,” says Sangha in a July 4 statement.

The suspect is described as an Asian man in his 20s, with an average build, short black hair and no facial hair. An image released by police shows him in a jacket with a crossbody bag and sweatpants on.

SFU director of media relations Michael Russell says the university is working with RCMP on the incident and continues to support any needs as it is an active investigation.

"The university has not received any other reports of similar incidents since this time,” says Russell.

SFU has campus public safety staff who provide around-the-clock public safety and resource protection services to the university community.

If you recognize the suspect, you’re asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2024-34550.
