Police in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»were called to a popular park after a person discovered an out-of-place vegetable.
On Sunday, a beachgoer was walking at Hadden Park when they found multiple onions.
Hadden Park is beside Kitsilano Beach and is a popular off-leash dog area.
A person also took to to report the odd discovery stating their friend found more than 64 onions scattered all over the "beach dog park."
The person was concerned the onion spreading might have been done with ill intent.
“Be aware out there and keep your little fur babies safe!” wrote the person.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»police, however, do not know why the onions were at the beach.
"It’s unclear whether the onions were left intentionally or by accident, or whether they simply washed up on the beach,” says Sgt. Steve Addison.
If eaten, onions can cause serious medical problems for dogs. Vomiting can occur soon after a dog eats an onion but the full onset could take several days to appear.
Another person claims they saw onions washing up on Kitsilano Beach on Sunday around 5:30 p.m.
"I saw three this afternoon ... Different kinds of onions and they were spread out, too. It was strange," they wrote.
A group of Good Samaritans took it upon themselves to clear the beach of the onions.
