IHIT and IIO are investigating after a gunman was shot and killed by police in Langley, B.C. on July 25, 2022.

A day after a deadly shooting spree in Langley that left three people dead, including the alleged shooter, a community outreach event is taking place.

The Langley RCMP victim services team, in partnership with IHIT victim services, will be hosting the one-day event in response to the shootings.

Two men were shot and killed, a woman was shot and left in critical condition and another person was shot in the leg early Monday morning. The shootings spanned six hours in the City of Langley and the Township of Langley.

Police located the suspect just before 6 a.m. and fatally shot him. He has since been identified by police as the lone gunman, 28-year-old Jordan Daniel Goggin.

Sgt. Rebecca Parslow says anyone in the community who needs support is invited to attend Tuesday's event.

Crisis counsellors from the provincial disaster psychosocial team as well as a variety of support groups will be present to offer their services.

Representatives from victim services and Langley RCMP community liaison officers will also be present.

The event is taking place at Nicomekl Elementary, located at 20050 53 Avenue in Langley. It'll run from 3 to 8 p.m.

Parslow says it’s an informal event and there will be no speeches.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) and B.C.'s police watchdog, the Independent Investigations Office of BC, are are investigating the shootings, working to determine the motive and if the suspect acted alone.
