'Christmas miracle!’ Lost YVR bunny being reunited with family

Bunbun the bunny is being reunited with its family
A family has come forward claiming a blue toy bunny as theirs after it got left behind at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»International Airport.

Celia Taylor was trying to travel from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Edmonton for the holidays on Dec. 20 when her flight was delayed and ultimately cancelled. That's when she found a blue toy bunny on the floor and took to Twitter to try and find its owner.

Turns out, it worked.

Neva Bassingthwaite responded to her saying that the bunny belongs to her son and its name is Bunbun.

"After 60 hours of delays and flight cancellations, we finally arrived in Edmonton for our son's first time meeting his Canadian family,” says Bassingthwaite. "Our luggage is still lost in transit so reuniting them would be a Christmas miracle!”

The bunny was lost while they were trying to get to Edmonton from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on Dec. 20.

"It sounds like Bunbun is en route to us,” says Bassingthwaite.

YVR confirmed that Bunbun is in the process of being reunited with the family.

"Thanks to all who helped us make it happen,” says a spokesperson with YVR.

Bassingthwaite says she is grateful for the "hoppy ending" and thanks the woman who helped find Bunbun.
