Burnaby RCMP is looking for help identifying a man suspected of going on a $75,000 spending spree with stolen credit and debit cards.
Police got a report in October 2022 from a man saying his wallet had been stolen and his debit and credit cards being used to make numerous fraudulent purchases, according to an RCMP news release.
The debit card was used at a bank machine in the Metrotown area to withdraw a “large sum of money,” and the credit cards were used at various businesses in Metrotown, South Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and Richmond to purchase high-end electronics worth a total of $75,000, police said.
Burnaby RCMP released a photo of the suspect Thursday and appealed to the public for help identifying him.
"This type of crime can cause financial and emotional hardships," Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in the release. We believe someone will recognize this man. If you recognize this suspect, please give our investigators a call.
